Global health research has emerged as a signature strength in our department. Our expanding global health research portfolio seeks solutions for issues of urgent concern in low- and middle-income countries—such as HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health, reproductive health, mental health, substance use and addictions, and violence and victimization.
We apply a range of research methodologies to examine these issues, including survey research, qualitative research, as well as clinical trials of behavior change interventions using counseling and mHealth techniques. Some of the areas where our faculty conduct research include South Africa, Zambia, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru.
